Question Coverage States: Answered, Partial, and Uncovered

Coverage states describe what the site actually answers, and they are not demonstration percentages.

Educational material only. Mika does not guarantee search rankings or AI answer citations.

Definition

Question coverage uses three states: answered, partial, and uncovered. Commercial intents are recorded separately as covered, partial, or missing, because a general question can be answered while a buying query is still missing. The labels describe the current site, and they are not sample scores or demonstration percentages.

Short answer

Answered means the site states a direct supportable answer, partial means only some of the needed pieces are present, and uncovered means the question is not handled. Commercial coverage asks whether a product page can honestly support the query, which is a different list from general question coverage.

What to check

  • Mark each question answered
  • Mark each question partial
  • Mark each question uncovered
  • Record commercial coverage apart

What this does not claim

Marking a question as answered does not guarantee that search or any AI product will surface that answer. The states are facts about what the page contains, and they do not promise a future position or a citation.

A practical example

The homepage already teaches with the question Which product is suitable for low-rise concrete placement, and that line is an illustration rather than a customer result. A useful response gives a direct answer with the use case, the constraints, and a link to specifications, and the state becomes answered only when that material is actually on the site.
